MADURAI: Pensioners of Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) here had assembled in the university campus here today- on November 6th 2023- since they had not yet received the monthly pension for month of October.
The pensioners had assembled in the varsity campus in front of Registrar’s office, as the members gathered through Madurai Kamaraj University Pensioners’ Association which had highlighted about the struggle of MKU pensioners to get monthly pension and for October month it was not yet received till date, according to a press release received here from the association today evening- on November 6th 2023.
Dr.A.Srinivasan, president, MKU Pensioners’ Association, its secretary Mr.A.Swaminathan and office-bearers met MKU Vice-Chancellor today morning and expressed to him about the pathetic situation of pensioners and family pensioners.
“There was no positive response from the VC side. He said that MKU is unable to credit the pension and salary due to university’s financial crisis,” Mr.Swaminathan has said in the press release. According to university sources, the protest by present employees and pensioners will continue on November 7th 2023 also with black badges.
