
MADURAI: The Al-Ameen Higher Secondary School at K.Pudur in Madurai has set a new benchmark to show how a school can take care of not only its students but also their families by taking the help of philanthropists.
Thanks to the support of C.A.Ganapathi-G.Kasthuribai Trust which came forward to support the children’s needs, a function was organized in the school campus today-June 30th 2025- to distribute welfare assistance starting from stitched school uniforms to grinders to table fans needed at home because Al-Ameen School in Madurai mostly caters to students from economically weaker sections.
Three sisters who are holding good positions in their professions- District Judge Mrs.G.Vijayarani, Deputy Commissioner in HR&CE Department Mrs.G.Selvi and advocate Mrs.G.Lakshmi had participated in the distribution function held in school premises and expressed their happiness to help through their charitable Trust which was started to help the society in the name of their parents.
“Today is a memorable day for all our family members because we can see how the C.A.Ganapathi-G.Kasthuribai Trust could extend assistance to the needy students. This is the fourth year of our activity and this year we came to Al-Ameen Higher Secondary School in Madurai. My father was in teaching profession and today’s distribution function is a justification to what he wanted to do,” District Judge Mrs.G.Vijayarani from Chennai has said.
Wit the support of this Trust, the school had given 7 table fans, 8 grinders, 4 mixies, 1 ceiling fan, 1 two-wheeler mechanic kit and good quality stitched uniforms for 100 students.
S.Sheik Nabi, Headmaster, has said that Al-Ameen School is a symbol of communal harmony and unity in diversity.
“We took a list of what the students’ family needs and accordingly we have procured with the help of this Trust. Also, 10 students are receiving education scholarships. And more importantly we had arranged for a good non-veg feast today to 500 students. It is a day of immense satisfaction for all our staff,” the school HM added.
S.Mohamed Idris, Correspondent, Al-Ameen Higher Secondary School, M.Mariappan, secretary, Lions Club of Madurai City and Tamil passionate enthusiast K.Adhithaa were among those who were present along with S.Kalai Murugan, retired assistant director from Tamil Nadu Government service.
K.Mohideen Pitchai, school physical education teacher, had welcomed the gathering while S.Mohammed Rafi, Postgraduate Teacher, had proposed a vote of thanks.
