MADURAI: The following reserved special trains are run to clear extra rush on various sectors during the ensuing festival season :-1. Train No. 06019 / 06020 Dr. MGR Chennai Central – Madurai – Dr. MGR Chennai Central AC Superfast Tri-Weekly Special Trains
With a composition of One First Class AC first class Coach, Two 2-Tier AC coaches, nine 3-Tier AC coaches and Two Luggage Cum Brake vans, Train No. 06019 Dr. MGR Chennai Central – Madurai AC Superfast Tri-Weekly special train will leave Dr. MGR Chennai Central at 22.30 hrs. on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays and reach Madurai at 07.20 hrs the next day.
The first service from Dr. MGR Chennai Central will be on 19th October, 2020.In the Return Direction, Train No. 06020 Madurai – Dr. MGR Chennai Central AC Tri-Weekly Superfast Special train will leave Madurai at 22.45 hrs. on Tuesdays, Thursdays & Sundays and reach Dr. Chennai Central at 07.50 hrs. the next day. The first service from Madurai will be on 20th October, 2020. Train No. 06020 Madurai – Dr. MGR Chennai Central AC Superfast Tri-Weekly special train will also stop at Perambur. Reservations for all the above Special trains will open at 08.00 hrs on Thursday 15th October, 2020.
2. Train No. 02666 / 02665 Kanniyakumari – Howrah- Kanniyakumari Weekly Special Trains via Chennai Egmore. This is with a composition of One 2-Tier AC coach, Four 3-Tier AC coaches, Ten Sleeper Class Coaches, Two General second Class Coaches and Two Luggage Cum Brake vans, Train No. 02666 Kanniyakumari -Weekly special train will leave Kanniyakumari at 08.00 hrs. on Saturdays and reach Howrah at 03.10 hrs. on Mondays. The first service from Kanniyakumari will be on 24th October, 2020 and last service from Kanniyakumari will be on 28th November, 2020.Train No.02665 Howrah – Kanniyakumari Weekly Special train will leave Howrah at 16.10 hrs. on Mondays and reach Howrah at 10.50 hrs. on Wednesdays.
The first service from Howrah will be on 26th October, 2020 and last service from Howrah will be 30th November, 2020.Train No. 02666 Kanniyakumari – Howrah Weekly Special train special train will stop at Srirangam and Ariyalur. Reservations for all the above Special trains from Chennai end will open at 08.00 hrs on Friday 16th October, 2020, a press release from the Madurai Division of Southern Railway, informed here today- on 15th October 2020.
