MADURAI: The busy Central vegetable market at Mattuthavani in Madurai city along with other important markets will be closed from tomorrow in order to prevent large crowds and thereby take a step to prevent spread of corona virus.
Instead, the Madurai Corporation has today announced that vegetables will be sold at 14 different locations in Madurai city from 30th March 2020. These places include Maattuthavani bus stand, Apollo Hospital junction, Race Course Road, AR Ground, Iyer Bungalow, Teppakulam Thiagarajar College area, TPK Road, Yanaikkal Road, etc.
Also, the Madurai Corporation had decided to deploy 100 mobile vegetable vehicles covering 100 wards in Madurai city.
