Give shape to southern districts’ investments soon, TN Chamber appeals to CM Stalin Govt

MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry has today appealed to Chief Minister Mr.M.K.Stalin and to the State government to speedily implement the measures taken to attract more investments for the growth of trade and industry and to improve the employment opportunities for youth in southern Tamil Nadu.

In a press statement issued from Madurai on 29th July 2022, TN Chamber president Dr.N.Jegatheesan has said that the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr.Stalin has already made efforts to get more more investments / factories and if those industry infrastructure facilities are implemented at the earliest, it will give a boom for southern districts’ development and increase employment opportunities for educated youth in south Tamil Nadu.

“For may years, the focus of industrial investment in Tamil Nadu has been around Chennai and Kancheepuram. Now, steps are being taken to attract industrial investments to southern districts of the State by focusing on the unique features/ strengths of each region. If those infrastructure facilities are implemented at the earliest, the trade and industry in southern districts will see a boom and lead to economic development of this region,” the TN Chamber president has said in his appeal for southern districts.

The Special Economic Zone (SEZ) set up at Nanguneri in Tirunelveli district, the SIPCOT Industrial Estate at Gangaokondan, food processing and value based food products industries in Madurai, Dindigul and Theni districts, Sakkimangalam new industrial park in Madurai etc will increase employment opportunities significantly along with the software companies.

“Capital subsidy for new investors setting up industries in southern districts, the three regional start up hubs proposed to be set up in Tamil Nadu at Madurai, Erode and Tirunelveli, the clusters for women;s garments manufacturing units in Virudhunagar district, toy manufacturing units in Madurai, kitchenware manufacturing units in Tirunelveli and wood carving units in Kanyakumari will pave way for progress of trade and industrial development in this southern region of Tamil Nadu,” Dr.N.Jegatheesan has stressed in his press statement from Madurai.
