MADURAI: A complaint letter was sent to the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) in Madurai urging for action against the management of N.M.S.S.Vellaichamy Nadar College situated at Nagamalai Pudukottai in Madurai for allegations of corruption, illegal collection of fees money from students, capitation fees and violations of Government rules.

R.Devaraj, Madurai district secretary, All India Students Association (AISA), has approached the DVAC on July 12th 2025 with several supporting documents about collection of huge fees from poor students and he asked for action against the principals and secretaries of the college from 2019-2025 and he also included the collegiate education officials in his complaint to the DVAC because he argues that Prevention of Corruption Act rules were violated in this college despite his alerts in the last few months.

“Nadar Mahajana Sangam S.Vellaichamy Nadar College in Madurai is a government-aided college affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University. The Tamil Nadu government meets salary expenses and UGC gives funds for projects. I am submitting some documentary evidence to show that there is a fraudulent collection of money as semester fees from students in various bank accounts. It was more than the Government prescribed fees. Moreover, the college has not published the fees structure in college website. I am enclosing copies of some fee receipts to prove my complaints against Vellaichamy Nadar College for indulging in corrupt practices and that government officials did not act despite complaints made earlier,” Mr.R.Devaraj has said in his complaint sent to DVAC in Madurai by registered post and e-mail demanding for action against the Principals and Secretaries of this college in the last 10 years because he accused that their actions had affected poor students and huge fees money was collected and deposited in the college’s bank accounts.
