MADURAI: Following some reports in a section of media about notices that were served to private engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu by the Anna University from Chennai, a few senior level faculty have today confirmed that there are several disturbing gaps in basic infrastructure in engineering colleges in the State.

“There are lab issues, no adequate number of computers in departments, there is no laboratory equipment and chemicals. The physical inspection by Anna University teams was over two months back, and based on the online reports submitted by colleges and inspections done by our teams, it is now clear that there are deficiencies in engineering colleges either with regard to qualified staff, subjects infrastructure or general amenities to students. The notices issued which were individually sent to the engineering colleges assume significance now because Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions 2025 counselling process is right now going on and it is for the Affiliations Committee team of Anna University to answer to the parents about the real picture of engineering colleges that are lacking the students’ amenities for engineering courses,” senior professors of Anna University told ‘Lotus Times’ media in Madurai over phone today- July 14th 2025.

Senior faculty members of Anna University in Chennai have today lamented that the very fact that notices were issued by the Anna University to some engineering colleges across the State is an alert to the parents and students in this admissions counselling time for B.E. engineering courses when they choose the college for admission.
