CHENNAI: Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi’s clarion call to the people to observe ‘9 minutes lights off’ at 9 pm on 5th April 2020 and instead light lamps or candles has received very positive response and participation in India’s battle against Coronavirus.
At TVH Lumbini Square Apartments in Purasawalkam in Chennai, those nine minutes was a sight of determination and resolve of residents in those flats to give a fitting challenge to COVID-19.
Responding to the Prime Minister’s appeal, thousands of people living in this huge apartment complex in Chennai city turned up in their balconies with lamps, candles and torchlights at sharp 9 pm. They also waved the mobile phone flashlights in a manner that conveyed a powerful message- Corona Your Time is Over.

After holding torches and flashlights for nine minutes, the residents of TVH Lumbini Square Apartments went back into their homes saying that India will win this battle and the days of Corona are numbered.
There are about 500 flats in this apartment premises in six towers and 18 floors with more than 2,500 people living there. Watching them holding the lights outside their homes by switching off lights in their homes had conveyed their Corona message in unison.
