Thiruvananthapuram: In the fight against COVID-19, people of all States have rallied behind Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi and came out in large numbers in their cities, towns and villages on 5th April 2020 at 9 P.M. for 9 minutes sending a warning to Coronavirus.
The people of Kerala took part in PM Modi’s mission of showing a new light last night after turning off the lights in their homes for nine minutes. In Thiruvananthapuram city, it was virtually a movement by the people who lit lamps and candles in their resolve to get rid of the virus that is posing a major challenge to many countries.

What happened at Valiachalai Street in Thiruvananthapuram on 5th April at 9 p.m. reflects the mood of the people and the people’s will to win over the Corona virus.
Residents of this famous street waited for the time and when the clock showed 9 p.m. they came out with lamps and candles remaining in their homes and balconies sending a message of solidarity. “We will pray and follow the lockdown protocol. These are tough times, but our spirit of unity will demolish the virus chain,” the residents said after lighting the ‘divine lamps’.
Men, women and children stood in their places with lamps, adhered to social distancing norms and sent out a warning to the Corona in one voice that reverberated across Thiruvananthapuram, the famous city of Lord Padmnanabha Swamy Temple.
And, that vibration from Valiachalai Street is ‘BHARAT MATHA KI JAI’.
