MADURAI: Lady Doak College in Madurai had organized the first inter-school Under-19 girls volleyball league tournament on 3rd and 4th September 2026 at its platinum jubilee indoor stadium with active participation of teams from various schools.
St.Joseph Girls Higher Secondary School of Madurai had emerged champions and won LDC Volleyball Trophy 2026 by beating OCPM Girls Higher Secondary School with 2-1 in the final, according to a press release received yesterday from Major Dr.T.Shantha Meena, Director of Physical Education at LDC.
Nirmala Girls Higher Secondary School secured third place by defeating Annamalaiyar Matric Higher Secondary School.
Dr.R.Kathiresan, chairman of Rishi Hospital, had distributed prizes at the valedictory function held on September 4th 2026 in the presence of Dr.R.Beulah Jeyashree, Principal and Secretary of Lady Doak College.
Sr Ram Nallamani Girls Higher Secondary School and Government higher secondary schools from Othakadai and Kachakatti also participated in this volleyball league tournament
T.he tournament, which was inaugurated by Mr.T.Vivekanandhan, life president of Madurai District Volleyball Association and chairman of jury committee of Tamil Nadu State Volleyball Association, was successfully organized by Director of Physical Education of LDC Major Dr.T.Shantha Meena and assistant director of physical education Dr.M.Hemalatha, the press release added.
