MADURAI: Education policy drafting expert Dr.L.Jawahar Nesan has announced in Madurai today-October 3rd 2026-that he will not rest till Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi’s government at the Centre changes its education policy by abolishing NEET exam for medical admission, abolish NEP 2020 and also bring education back to the State list.

To voice the public opinion from Tamil Nadu, he is now undertaking a 2,300 kms cycle rally from Kanniyakumari to Chennai by traversing through various towns and cities along with a volunteer team which is being supported by various organizations representing government employees, insurance employees, retired staff and students associations.

“I am spearheading a State-wide movement in Tamil Nadu right now on behalf of 8 crore people. This rally is a reply to Delhi and to the ruling establishment of Modi government on behalf of common people. When students rallied in the national capital through Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) for a national cause which they took up, they were badly commented. Let us save federalism in education and restore education to State list in our Constitution,” Dr.L.Jawahar Nesan has said while addressing the public at Simmakkal area in Madurai today where he was accorded a warm welcome by teachers associations like MUTA and representatives of various government associations, retired employees associations, students organizations and those who wanted to have 21st century learning methods in classrooms.

I WILL LIVE FOR COMMON MAN:

Dr.L.Jawahar Nesan (aged 60 yrs) is currently on a cycle rally (from September 26th to October 16th 2026) to voice the people’s demand for federalism in education by bringing education to the State List, stop ‘Hindutva’ content in school textbooks, stop distorting history lessons for children, implement 21st century learning methods, abolish NEET exam fore medical college admission, scrap the NTA which is conducting exams right now and to make education accessible to all and “don’t make it as a commodity”.

“Hindutva thoughts is being added to school syllabus and textbooks by the present Modi government of BJP. The ‘Sanghi’ thoughts must be removed from our school textbooks. Our rural students should be able to get NEET admission…..I will always live as a common man and this rally from Madurai will go to Delhi like the CJP if Modi government continues its discrimination policy in education,” he said in Madurai today at the meeting from where he demanded for abolishing of NEET, withdraw National Education Policy 2020 and restore education to State list which was originally given by those who had drafted the Indian Constitution for social justice as a thrust.

Madurai Corporation Mayor in-charge Mr.T.Nagarajan, MUTA general secretary Dr.A.T.Senthamaraikannan and Mr.P.Srinivasan (Madurai district secretary of TNPTF) were among those who spoke by stressing on the need for quality and equality in education system in India since the present education system of BJP Modi’s government had damaged the curriculum and syllabus of children.

“We will meet the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister soon and submit a detailed memorandum for our State education policy. The strong voice against NEET and the demand to bring education to State list will be our main demand,” Dr.L.Jawahar Nesan who is a former Vice-Chancellor and ex-education policy panel member, told ‘Lotus Times’ in Madurai today- October 3rd 2026- just before he began pedaling to his next point, and this cycle rally is a mission by ‘Children and Youth Lives Matter’ which is being supported by powerful associations in the State like TNGEA and MUTA along with insurance employees associations etc.
