MADURAI: The O.C.P.M.Girls Higher Secondary School in Madurai stood first in the State-level ball badminton tournament that was conducted in Chennai on June 20th and June 21st 2026.
In the final match played between Madurai OCPM team and Chennai CSI Jessie Moses team, the students of OCPM school won with a score of 36-34, 35-20 to secure the first place and bagged gold medal, cash prize and trophy.
Totally 17 teams participated in this tournament which was conducted on a knockout and league basis, and OCPM School from Madurai had secured the first place in State-level ball badminton tournament, according to a press release received from the school here today.
The winning students were congratulated on June 29th 2026 by the Bishop of Madurai-Ramnad Diocese Rev.Dr.D.Jeyasingh Prince Prabhakaran and Diocese treasurer Mr.I.Janson along with school correspondent Rev.Staenley Jeyaraj along with school headmistress Mrs.N.Mary and physical education teachers Mr.R.Rajesh Kannan and Mrs.B.Sharmila, the press release added.
