TN Retd College Teachers Assn’s office-bearers election in Madurai on Nov 26th 2025.

MADURAI: The new office-bearers of Tamil Nadu Retired College Teachers’ Association (TANRECTA) Madurai Unit were elected unopposed for 2025-28 term in the election process which took place in Madurai on November 26th 2025.

With only one nomination received for each of the 10 posts, the election committee had declared the new office-bearers who got elected without contest. Prof.G.Ramamoorthy was elected as president, Prof.U.Anarkali will be the vice president while Prof.N.Periya Thambi got elected as secretary for the 2025-28 term, according to a press release here today.

The other office-bearers are Prof.K.V.Anandan as joint secretary and Prof.R.Chandran will be treasurer while Prof.V.Perumal, Prof.D.S.Rajendran, Prof.S.Shanmugasundaram, Prof.A.Anarkali Beevi and Prof.K.R.Sundararajan have been elected as members of State General Council.

“Announcement of new office-bearers of TANRECTA Madurai Unit was made by the election convener Dr.Abdul Kadir who is a former Principal of Wakf Board College in Madurai. The office-bearers have been elected unopposed for 2025-28 term. Elections are conducted once in three years,” the press release added.

A three-member election committee comprising Dr.Abdul Kadir as convenor and members Prof.Sethurakkayi and Prof.Shanmugavel was constituted to oversee the election process for TANRECTA Madurai Unit’s new office-bearers election for 2025-28.

“The Madurai Unit of our association has over 400 retired professors as members. Elections for five unit-level posts and five State general council positions are scheduled to be held on December 9th 2025. For Madurai unit, only one nomination was received for each of the 10 posts and our election committee had declared all the candidates for Madurai Unit elected without contest. The election process was smoothly held thanks to the support of our association office-bearers in Madurai,” Prof.Dr.Abdul Kadir has said in his press statement today.
