
MADURAI: The O.C.P.M.Girls Higher Secondary School in Madurai has once again showed its supremacy in ball badminton by winning trophy and gold medal in the State-level ball badminton championship competitions held recently.
To commemorate ‘Bharathiyar Day’, the Tamil Nadu School Education Department had conducted 41st State-level ball badminton competitions at Kilpennathur in Tiruvannamalai district from November 19th to November 21st 2025 and schools from 38 districts had participated by sending their teams.
In the final match, OCPM Girls Higher Secondary School team from Madurai had beaten the Erode team and won the trophy thereby emerging victorious at State level, according to a press release from Mrs.N.Mary, Headmistress, here yesterday and the school had registered 11 consecutive victories at State level in the annual ball badminton competitions.
The victorious team was appreciated and felicitated by the Bishop of Madurai Ramnad Diocese Rt.Rev.Dr.D.Jeyasingh Prince Prabhakaran along with school correspondent Rev.I.Stanly Jayaraj, Headmistress Mrs.N.Mary, physical directress Mrs.J.Persis, physical education teachers Mr.R.Rajesh Kannan and Mrs.B.Sharmila for the marvellous victory of the girls and the school managrement had also congratulated student R.Kavipriya for leading the school team towards victory in ball badminton in the State level sports and games held recently.
