MADURAI: India’s icon and inpsiring legendary cricket player M.S.Dhoni will reach Madurai airport by a special chartered flight at 1 pm today- October 9th 2025 – to inaugurate the Velammal Cricket Stadium which was constructed at a cost of Rs.325 crores.
As per the given official schedule, Mr.Dhoni will enter Velammal Medical College at 1.25 pm and he will be accorded a grand reception at north block. Dhoni will give apperance to the gathering at 1.36 pm and then go for a buggy ride for 10 minutes.
The Chairman of Velammal Educational Trust Mr.M.V.Muthuramalingam will speak at 1.50 pm and after that Dhoni will unveil the inaugural plaque of Velammal Cricket Stadium. The grand opening of stadium wil take place at 2.01 pm after an audio visual AV on stadium facilities.
“Dhoni sir’s speech and interaction with students will be for 15 minutes and today’s inaugural event is open only for the students of Velammal educational institutions. After his speech, he will go for main pitch inaugural shots and it will be for 10 minutes. At 2.42 pm, the cricket legend will leave for Madurai airport. His total programme schedule here in Madurai will be for one hour and 20 minutes,” as per the schedule released by the college ahead of his visit today.
