Love the books, go to libraries: Al-Ameen School motivates its students on reading habit for GK

MADURAI: Students of Al-Ameen Higher Secondary School at K.Pudur in Madurai were given a strong orientation today to imbibe book reading habit and go to nearby libraries regularly to enhance thier general knowledge and be updated with current affairs.

A special session was held in the school campus on October 9th 2025 with title ‘NAAMUM, NOOLUM, NOOLAGAMUM’ in associaion with Madurai Readers Circle to emphasize the point that reading of books and newspapers will enhance the students’ confidence, personality development and success.

“We have a very great Kalaignar Centenary Library in Madurai. Go there regularly and especaiily during holidays. Great personalities like Bhagat Singh, C.N.Annadurai, M.Karunanidhi and Ma.Po.Sivagnanam were always ardent readers of books. And successful leaders like MGR and Kamaraj could handle their public life only due to the knowledge they gained by keeping themselves updated,” Mr.G.Ramamoorthy, secretary, Madurai Reacders Circle, had exhorted the students today.

Mr.B.Shanmuga Velu, organiser of Madurai Readers Circle, spoke on the importance of going to book fairs being organized at Tamukkam Ground in Madurai every year and he had appreciated the efforts being taken by Al-Ameen School to strengthen its school library for the benefit of students.

Mr.S.Sheik Nabi, Headmaster, Al-Ameen Higher Secondary School, spoke on the school’s recent MoU with Kalaignar Centenary Library here while Tamil teacher Mr.A.Thoubik Raja had proposed a vote of thanks.
