MADURAI: A massive nationwide protest cum dharna agitation is going to take place right in the Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi’s Lok Sabha constituency- Varanasi- in Uttar Pradesh on September 13th 2025 to highlight the demands of teachers in India.
The All India Federation of University and College Teachers’ Organizations (AIFUCTO) has announced a clarion call today- September 2nd 2025- for a massive protest agitation to be held at Kacheri Ground in Varanasi which is the Lok Sabha constituency now being represented by Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi as its MP in Lok Sabha.
“The AIFUCTO has decided to hold a protest agitation dharna in Mr.Modi’s constituency of Varanasi in UP on September 13th 2025 as an ultimate step hoping that the Government of India will resume a discussion process for saving education in India. A meeting of AIFUCTO executive body will be held at Harish Chandra PG College in Varanasi on September 13th 2025 to take stock of the current education situation and decide our future course of action. We believe that the Prime Minister Mr.Modi will respond to the democratic voices of teachers and employees across the country and save education, save campus and save our nation,” Prof.Dr.M.Nagarajan, president, AIFUCTO and Prof.Dr.Arun Kumar, general secretary, AIFUCTO, have said in a press release issued today.
The prime demand is to discuss the concerns about National Education Policy 2020 and the issues faced by teachers and problems in India, especially in higher education. In the massive dharna at Varanasi on September 13th 2025, several forums from all over India and students’ organizations are taking part along with civil society movements who are committed to inclusive education.
