MADURAI: A meeting of the old students of Economics Department of American College in Madurai was held today-September 3rd 2025- to discuss on how to form a full-fledged alumni association by inviting the department alumni.
Mr.Pon.Muthuramalingam, former Minister in Tamil Nadu Government and is who a proud alumnus of The American College in Madurai, had chaired the meeting and the objective is to promote the students’ interests of those who are studying in the Department of Economics of American College, according to a press release received from the department here today evening.
Training and skill development programs will be conducted for students and teaching staff of the department, and the alumni of American College Economics Department are invited to join as members of the alumni association by contacting 94863-73765 with their details. The alumnus of this college including retired police officer Dr.Senthamaraikannan, Mr.Mariappan, social activist Mr.Saravanan, Dr.Kannabiran, Dr.Jayarani, industrialist Mr.Vivek and others had participated in the meeting today which was organized by Dr.C.Muthuraja, the press release added.
