At MKU campus in Madurai on June 2nd 2025 for salary and pension.
MADURAI: Pensioners and staff of Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) here had staged a protest in the varsity campus here today- June 2nd 2025- urging the Tamil Nadu government and university authorities to disburse their salary and pension due to them.
“Today, the MKU Pensioners Association and MKU Faculty Association members have jointly staged a protest demanding that our salary and pension must be given on the last day of the month. Sadly, we learnt today that it may take a long time to get our regular payment. Dr.Muniyandi and Dr.Sadasivam are supporting our cause from MUFA side. There is information that our MKU Registrar and our university’s Finance Officer are attending an important meeting with all all other State universities to be held in Chennai. So, we are requesting the Higher Education Department to understand our plight,” a few pensioners of MKU said today at the protest venue in the university premises- June 2nd 2025.
