MADURAI: The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) political party which was floated by popular Tamil film actor Mr.Vijay is considering seriously various possibilities to join a political alliance for fighting the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections to be held in May 2026. And the talk is that he is joining the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) of BJP and Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi.
“Definitely, TVK is not contesting alone for the next year’s Assembly elections. The reliable information from top sources within the Vijay’s party is that he is going to join the NDA alliance in Tamil Nadu after the ‘Jana Nayagan’ film release in coming January…. There is a strong information that film actor Vijay will support the NDA in Tamil Nadu for the 2026 Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu because the objective is to defeat the DMK….Mr.Vijay is not going it alone in the coming assembly elections. Talks are going on right now informally and the TVK will be given 11 assembly seats to start with by the AIADMK-led alliance in Tamil Nadu of Mr.Edappadi Palanisami….and Vijay seems to be acceptable for that because he needs NDA support to make his entry mark in electoral politics. He had already declared that DMK is his political opponent. There is information that TVK may join the NDA grouping in Tamil Nadu in coming January immediately after the 2026 Pongal festival and then join the NDA campaign along with BJP national leaders,” according to very reliable political sources who knows the mood in TVK and they have confirmed today-on May 26th 2025- that there will be a big surprise in Tamil Nadu politics in January 2026 Assembly elections alliance formation.
