CHENNAI: If a two-wheeler rider meets with an accident without wearing helmet, the impact of injury reaches brain immediately depending on the severity and the person gets crippled for the rest of the life and thereby become a burden to themselves and to the family. But if they wear helmet, it absorbs the impact of injury and it protects the brain, and so all those who are riding two-wheelers should wear helmet while driving.

This was the message explained by Dr.K.Gireesh, a well-known neurophysician and neurosurgeon in Chennai, at road safety awareness programme organized by Lions Clubs International District 324K at Anna Nagar Roundtana in Chennai on October 9th 2024 to commemorate World Service Day.

“Our program today is an important step to fulfill sustainable development 3.6 which focuses on reducing the number of injuries in road accidents. Road safety needs lot of our attention and we neurosurgeons will have to step out and propagate preventive measures and thanks to the Chennai traffic police, we could do our bit for traffic discipline and road safety through this event,” Dr.K.Gireesh has said.
