MADURAI: Senior journalist Shastry V Mallady had exhorted college students to spend a little time for meeting achievers, entrepreneurs, leaders and personalities from different fields because it will enhance their confidence level by the time they pass out with a university degree.

He addressed the MBA students of PSNA College of Engineering and Technology at Dindigul yesterday giving a guest lecture on ‘Degree of Confidence’, organised by the college’s Entrepreneurship Development Cell and Institution Innovation Council under the aegis of Department of Management Studies of PSNA College, on October 9th 2024.

“There is a lot of difference between just taking a selfie and taking autograph from any popular and distinguished person, and it can be in any field of your interest. That autograph which you take as a college student from a great successful person will be a motivating factor for your future success in the coming years. So, carry an autograph book always and spend just one hour to meet atleast one person every month in your own place, in your town and when you go out to any other place. Show some interest and I am telling you confidently that autograph book will reward you in your personal and professional life by instilling motivating confidence in you,” he said.

The senior journalist who has 31 years of experience in media field and worked in English newspapers has shown his old autograph book in which he took autographs from 1980s from his school days and college days from great personalities and how that had helped him to be self-confident always.

“I met great personalities like Mother Teresa, NTR, Ram Jethmalani, Lal Bahadur Shastriji’s family and several others much before I completed my college days. I used to take autographs from the persons I meet…..My passion was to meet political leaders and common people….When I was in college, most of the time in weekends I met people like M.K.Stalin and others in….Today, I am a very confident person because when I see my old autograph book, it still motivates me today and I keep going with same energy levels like a college student,” journalist Shastry V Mallady who started ‘Lotus Times’ English news website told the PSNA College MBA students in Dindigul on August 10th 2024 while showing the letters he got from leaders several years back from students days.
