MADURAI: Around 325 two-wheelers were seized and cases registered in Madurai for violating the Section 144 which is in force right now to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Totally, 33 cases were registered and Rs.1,22,000 fine was collected from those who just took their two-wheerlers and went around at various places in Madurai city. Section 144 and total lockdown are being implemented to control the virus spread.
Madurai Police Commissioner Mr.Davidson Devasirvatham told reporters here today that police are monitoring to prevent people going in groups due to Section 144 whose aim now is to ensure social distancing. Five drone cameras are being used by police.
