MADURAI: The celebrations of 75 years of Indian independence is getting into high gear as the Southern Railway’s Madurai Junction had unfurled a remembrance moment through a special expo in the railway junction in Madurai on 12th August 2022 where the railway officials and staff had recalled the great contributions made by freedom fighters during the freedom movement.

On 12th August 2022-Friday, the Southern Railway’s Madurai Divisional Railway Manager Mr.Padmanabhan Ananthled the celebrations here at the inaugural function of the remembrance expo at Madurai Railway Junction, where 98-year-old freedom fighter Shri.Alagam Perumal Konar inaugurated the exhibition that marks the 75 years of independence of India. Senior officials of the Southern Railway Madurai Division were present at the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations in Madurai railway junction today – on 12th August 2022. (Shri Alagam Perumal was imprisoned in front Madurai railway junction 80 years ago for taking part in the Quit India Movement).
