
MADURAI: The Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and the oil industry has assured the LPG customers that there is absolutely no shortage of LPG cylinders and gas cylinder distributors have adequate stocks for delivery to the customers.
“Due to the current lockdown situation, customers are resorting to pnic booking thereby resulting in backlogs……depriving genuine customers who are in real need of refills of the supplies. As on date, all the LPG bottling plants of the PSU oil companies are operating normally, and providing supplies of refill stocks to the distributor network. IndianOil through its network of over 900 distributors is supplying 1o 1.3 crores customers in Tamil Nadu and Pusucherry, delivering 2.2. lakh cylinders per day. BPCL and HPCL are also distributing LPG cylinders to customers through their bottling plants and distributors,” a press release issued on 31st March 2020 has assured.
The press statement was issued on behalf of Mr.P.Jayadevan, State Head of IndianOil and State level coordinator for oil industry in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
Mr.R.Chidambaram, General Manager 9Corporate Communications), IndianOil-Southern Region, Chennai, has said that PSU oil companies led by the Indian Oil Corporation are working round-the-clock since petroleum products are essential requirements for people, emergency services such as ambulancs/ government vehicles etc.
