MADURAI: The entire top brass of Tamil Nadu State Government’s administration team of various departments is now focused on the most-awaited ‘Maha Kumbhabhishekam’ consecration ceremony of world famous Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple in Madurai which is taking place on September 17th 2026.

Top IAS officials of various State government departments and of Madurai Corporation are ready with the final arrangements action plan, work chart and the route map for handling a very massive public turnout which will be in several lakhs of people from across Tamil Nadu and other States to witness the most sacred ‘Kumbhabhishekam’ holy spiritual rituals that will be performed by the temple priests on September 17th morning in Meenakshi Temple in Madurai on September 17th 2026.

Mr.P.Madhusudhan Reddy IAS, Director of Municipal Administration of Government of Tamil Nadu, along with specially deputed officials- Mr.K.Veera Raghava Rao IAS and Mr.T.G.Vinay IAS, Commissioner of HR&CE Department- had reviewed the final arrangements along with Madurai District Collector Mr.Nishant Krishna IAS and Madurai Corporation Commissioner Mr.Gaurav Kumar besides Madurai City Police Commissioner Mr.S.Rajendran who took stock of the final preparedness of Madurai city at a special review meeting held here today for Meenakshi Temple’s consecration ceremony with arrangements for drinking water, public toilets, mobile toilets, vehicle parking, conservancy workers for the next three days in the city, sanitation facilities, public health teams, emergency ambulances, food safety, traffic regulation, and law and order steps taken by the Madurai police, according to a press release from Madurai District administration and Madurai Corporation here today-September 15th 2026.
