
MADURAI: A job placement workshop conducted at Fatima College in Madurai had given a brainstorming practical exposure to its outgoing final year degree students about the actual professional skills that are being asked for employability by companies these days.
The Placement Training Committee of Fatima College here had organized a workshop on “Campus to Corporate” on August 17th 2026 to give confidence for its 500-odd outgoing students by preparing them with essential communication, interpersonal and professional skills that are needed in present day job market.
Dr.J.Karthikeyan, assistant professor of English and training cum placement officer at National College in Tiruchi had conducted a special orientation session along with his team comprising Mrs.Divyalakshmi, Mr.Bidyut Mandal and Mr.Prasanna Vignesh, according to a press release received from Fatima College in Madurai yesterday.
Dr.Sr.M.Fatima Mary, Principal, Fatima College-Madurai, had motivated the students by saying that this workshop was conducted to enhance career readiness of students via equipping them with smooth transition from campus to corporate environment with necessary employability skills, workplace expectations, effective communication, interpersonal skills, rapport and how to present themselves smartly in a professional setting when they get placement, the press release added.
The training had focused on self-introduction, group discussion and aptitude tests besides familiarizing the Fatima College students with key stages of recruitment process that helped them with clarity of expression, teamwork, critical thinking and professional etiquette exercises that will lead them to enter a workplace.
