MADURAI: India’s leading healthcare provider Apollo Hospitals had launched a first of its kind initiative named ‘Always Open. Always Here’ to make available outpatient consultations, health checkups, diagnostics services and follow-up consultations etc on all seven days of the week, especially Sundays for the convenience of families that have busy working schedules during weekdays.
Dr.Prathap C.Reddy, founder and Chairman of Apollo Hospitals Group and Dr.Preetha Reddy, Executive Vice-Chairperson of Apollo Hospitals, had launched this initiative on August 18th 2026 at a special event held in New Delhi in the presence of top team members of the hospital.
“By launching Always Open. Always Here, we are giving one more day for people to act on their health issues. Our hospital has always been available for emergencies and critical care on all days of the week. We are now extending it to routine and preventive care also on all seven days of the week. We are available on Sundays also from now on,” Dr.Prathap C.Reddy has said at the launch function held yesterday- August 18th 2026.
This new initiative will be very convenient for those who have busy work schedules on weekdays and hence get forced to postpone health checks and consultation with doctors.
Dr.M.Srinivas, Full Time Member of NITI Aayog-Government of India, Dr.Prathap C.Reddy, founder chairman of Apollo Hospitals Group and Dr.Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director were present at the launch event and they explained the special features of this new initiative.
Dr.Preetha Reddy had emphasized that ‘Always Open. Always Here’ removes time barrier in routine healthcare because it is easy now for working professionals and families with multiple responsibilities. to go to hospital on Sunday.
“Now, they are getting the option to consult a doctor and complete a health checkup on Sundays also because Apollo is available everyday of the week,” she added.
Dr.Nikhil Tiwari, Chief Executive Officer (ROTN), Apollo Hospitals, has informed in a press release from Madurai yesterday evening that patients will have access to specialist consultations, scheduled procedures and diagnostic services on Sundays also which means that a working person can complete his or her health check without taking a weekday leave.
“A family can bring an ageing parent for a planned diagnostic test and follow-up consultation with doctors on Sunday itself without waiting until Monday. Sunday access will have coordinated care teams and it is just a natural extension of Apollo’s services to one more day,” he said.
