CHENNAI: Amidst huge political suspense thriller that Tamil Nadu is witnessing right now about TVK forming a new government in the State, the party president Mr.Vijay had met TN Governor in Lok Bhavan in Chennai once again today afternoon-May 7th 2026 to stake claim for forming the government as TVK had emerged as single largest party in the assembly polls.
In a press release issued by Governor’s office at 2.30 pm today, the Lok Bhavan has said that “Tamil Nadu Governor Mr.Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar has invited Mr.C.Joseph Vijay, president of TVK to Lok Bhavan in Chennai. During the meeting, the Governor explained that the requisite majority support in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly which is essential for forming the Government has not been established.”
TVK president Mr.Vijay had already met the Tamil Nadu Governor yesterday to stake claim for forming the government and the wait still continues due to short of few numbers for TVK even after the Congress party had extended its support to actor Vijay’s TVK.
After this second meeting today, there is wide spread expectation that Vijay’s TVK will get the required support from other parties and that his swearing-in as new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu will take place soon after he gets the required number which is 118 plus in the 234-member assembly.
