Save the staff of 8 colleges from victimization: MUTA urges Tamil Nadu Govt for intervention

MADURAI: The MUTA general council has urged the Tamil Nadu government to intervene and safeguard the teachers and employees victimized by the managements in eight colleges and it had passed a resolution to this effect at the MUTA golden jubilee year 25th general conference held in Madurai on 7th and 8th January 2023.

Important resolutions were passed at the conference on ‘Save Higher Education’ organised in Madurai by MUTA (Madurai Kamaraj Manonmaniam Sundaranar Mother Teresa and Alagappa University Teachers Association). One of the resolutions include the urging of MUTA general council to the Tamil Nadu State government to intervene and safeguard the teachers and employees victimized by the managements of St.Xavier’s College in Palayamkottai, Madurai Institute of Social Sciences Madurai, SVN College Madurai, Dr.Zahir Husain College at Ilayangudi, Vivekananda College in Agastheeswaram, PMT College in Usilampatti, Malankara Catholic College in Kaliakavilai and Arulmigu Palaniandavar College in Palani.

The 25th general conference of MUTA took place in Madurai as a part of the association’s golden jubilee celebrations 1972-2022.

In the opening session on 7th January 2023, Madurai Lok Sabha MP Mr.Su.Venkatesan and educationist Mr.P.B.Prince Gajendra Babu were among those who addressed the gathering in the presence of MUTA office-bearers G.Raju, B.Stephen John, A.James William, A.Wilson Baskar, P.K.Periyasamy Raja, M.Umayavalli and MUTA general secretary Prof.M.Nagarajan.
