At Rameswaram, Railways Parliamentary Committee holds meeting for rail projects, ongoing works

MADURAI: The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Railways headed by former Union Agriculture Minister Mr.Radha Mohan Singh held a meeting in the famous pilgrim town Rameswaram on Friday- January 6th 2023.

It was a review cum Study Visit meeting to take stock of the ongoing railway projects in Madurai Division and the rail projects underway in Rameswaram which is a very important pilgrim destination in the country. The Parliamentary Standing Committee comprises members of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

A press release received from the railways here today has informed that Mr.Radha Mohan Singh had chaired the review meeting and various important railway projects and issues related to IRCTC, Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd and Braith Waite Company Ltd were discussed and how to expedte the ongoing railway projects.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee’s focus held a meeting in Madurai also yesterday to review various works on new railway lines, broad gauge works, track electrification, Pamban Bridge works etc. Southern Railway General Manager Mr.R.N.Singh, RVNL Chief Project Director Mr.Kamalakar Reddy, Madurai Divisional Railway Manager Mr.Padmanabhan Ananth and other members of Parliamentary Standing Committee including MPs- Mr.Kaushalendra Kumar, Dr.Farooq Abdullah, Mr.Satabdi Roy, Chandrani Murmu, Narahari Amin, Phulo Devi Netam, Sumer Singh Solanki, Ajit Kumar Bhuyan, Kodikunnil Suresh and Maya Lingi (Director and Secretary to delegation-LS secretariat, besides IRCTC CEO Ajith Kumar, Konkan Rail Corn top official Sanjay Gupta and others including Yatheeshkumar.
