
MADURAI: The Department of Communication, Madurai Kamaraj University and INTERNEWS Network, USA, are jointly organizing 2-Day Online Training Programme on Climate Change, Bay of Bengal and Media during September 2020 for Ramanathapuram, Tirunelveli and Kanniyakumar Districts journalists and mediapersons. Three separate two-day training programmes will be conducted each one for each district/region.
Experts in the field of Climate Change Resilience and Adaptation, Bay of Bengal and Media will be delivering information to the respective district /region Media persons, Dr.S.Nagarathinam, Chairperson, Professor and Head, Department of Communication, School of Linguistics and Communication, MKU, has informed on 9th September 2020.
This programme is aimed to connect experts and media persons to identify, understand and produce media contents at local level. Bay of Bengal and its relation to the Climate Change, adaptation, mitigation, resilience and impacts on public will be the topics of discussion during the training programme.
He has asked the media organizations to depute / nominate their district reporters in these coastal districts to get more insights in the areas of Environment, Climate Change and other leading issues- with reporters ‘name, address, Email and Mobile Number – for respective online training programme working at coastal districts through filling up of the Online Registration form.
There is no registration fee for this programme.
