A panchayat union primary school near Madurai gets dining hall for its children thanks to BPCL’s funding support from its CSR fund…

MADURAI: Thanks to the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding support by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, a panchayat union primary school at Thiruvathavur near Madurai had got a dining hall facility for its children to eat their meals daily in a comfortable and hygienic space.

A newly constructed dining facility at Panchayat Union Primary School in Thiruvathavur in Madurai district was inaugurated yesterday-August 30th 2026- with funding support by BPCL as a part of its CSR initiative to support children going to school in rural areas.

IAS officer Mr.M.G.Rajamanickam from Kerala had inaugurated the dining facility in this panchayat union primary school in the presence of Mr.Nitin S Selukar, Head-Retail (South) of BPCL and Dr.N.Jegatheesan, president, Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry along with senior officials Mr.Kannabiran, GM-Marketing (Retd) and Mr.Parameshwaran of BPCL and others.

Mr.M.G.Rajamanickam is an IAS officer of 2008 batch who is rendering his services as secretary of the Revenue (Devaswom) Department in Government of Kerala

“This dining facility was supported under the ‘Namma School Namma Ooru Palli’-Donate in Kind’ category with financial assistance of Rs.13.36 lakhs from BPCL’s CSR funds and the project was executed by Nagarathinam Angalammal Educational Trust. The new dining hall facility will provide the children with a comfortable space to have their meals,” a press release from event organizers has said.

BPCL IS ALWAYS FOR PEOPLE:

Speaking at the inaugural function, BPCL South Retail Head Mr.Nitin S.Selukar has said that BPCL has been supporting educational institutions for providing basic infrastructure to school children and BPCL had undertaken Rs.261 crores worth development activities through its CSR activities for social community development.

“Already BPCL had earlier constructed classrooms at Vepadappu panchayat union elementary school in Melur block in Madurai district at a cost of about Rs.30 lakhs apart from providing smart classrooms in 50 schools. That shows the BPCL’s commitment to support educational infrastructure by creating better learning environment for school children in rural areas,” the press release has said.
