MADURAI: Retiring faculty members of Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) in Madurai were felicitated and honoured at a special event organized for them in the university campus here on July 16th 2026 by the Madurai Kamaraj University Faculty Association (MUFA).
This event was conducted to celebrate the services and contributions of our esteemed retiring professors of MKU after their distinguished service in the teaching fraternity, Dr.C.Muniyandi, MUFA general secretary, has said in his welcome address at the felicitation function held in MKU campus here yesterday evening.
The retiring professors of MKU who were honoured in Madurai include computer science experts Prof.M.Ramaswami, Prof.K.Perumal, Prof.M.Thangaraj and Dr.R.Rathinasabapathy from the School of Information Technology along with Prof.S.Kannan of Department of Environmental Studies in School of Energy, Environment and Natural Resources, Prof.B.Mayilvaganan of Department of Applied Mathematic and Statistics in School of Mathematic-MKU, Dr.K.Umaraj from Department of Linguistics, P.Rajkumar from University Science Instrumentation Centre, Dr.N.Muthuraju of Department of Political Science in School of Social Sciences and Dr.M.Chitra of Department of Econometrics in School of Economics, according to information received from MUFA in Madurai yesterday.
Retiring faculty were felicitated by MKU Registrar in-charge Dr.S.Muthiah along with MUFA president Dr.T.Arokiadoss, MUFA general secretary Dr.C.Muniyandi and MUFA treasurer Dr.V.Shanmugaiah while the staff from various departments had expressed their appreciation for the great teaching service done by them for MKU students in the past several years.
