TVK president Mr.Vijay met TN Governor in Chennai on May 9th 2026 and gave the 118 MLAs list.
MADURAI: The political suspense thriller in Tamil Nadu has come to its last episode today after young leader Mr.Vijay’s TVK party had submitted the list of 118 plus MLAs that are supporting for formation of new government in the State and gave a huge sigh of relief to the people.
Accompanied by leaders of political parties who are supporting him, the president of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) Mr.C.Joseph Vijay met the TN Governor Mr.Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar for the fourth time in last one week at Lok Bhavan in Chennai today evening towards his party’s efforts in the last one week to get the required number for forming a new government.
The elections for TN Assembly were held on April 23rd 2026 and results were declared on May 4th 2026. Since no party could get the required majority of 118 seats, there has been a standoff in government formation by TVK Vijay as Chief Minister whose party secured 108 seats in its debut elections but fell short of 10 seats to get the needed magic number of 118 for government formation.
Thanks to the support extended by CPI, VCK and CPI(M), the suspense potboiler ended today evening on May 9th 2026 as Vijay handed over the list of MLAs who are supporting TVK to form the next government in Tamil Nadu in the wake of DMK and AIADMK getting less number of MLAs and TVK which won 108 MLAs in its maiden electoral fray.
So, the people of Tamil Nadu and TVK in particular will never forget 108 number which is already known as an emergency number and that situation was faced by actor Vijay to get invited by the Governor who insisted that TVK should come with necessary number of 118 to form the government. In all probability, Vijay will be sworn-in as Tamil Nadu Chief Minster on May 10th 2026 and the whole nation is waiting and watching.
