Agri business loan schemes workshop held at VAPS office in Chokkikulam Besant Road in Madurai on April 28th 2026 for agriculture entrepreneurs and farmers.
MADURAI: Various schemes that are available for agri-business sector and the procedures for obtaining bank loans were explained to entrepreneurs and farmers by officials from Agriculture Division of State Bank of India (SBI) Regional Office in Madurai.
A one-day workshop in agri-business loan schemes was organized here on April 28th 2026 by Voluntary Association for Peoples Service (VAPS) at its premises situated in Besant Road in Chokkikulam in Madurai for the benefit of those who want to enter agri business.
“This workshop was conducted by our Agri Business Network (ABN) in association with SBI and agri-business consortium. More than 80 agriculture entrepreneurs and farmers have attended the workshop,” according to a press release from VAPS here yesterday.
Ms.S.Suganya, chief manager, SBI Agri Division at Regional Office here and Dr.K.Muthu Pandian, technical officer (agri division), SBI Regional Office-Madurai, have explained how to avail bank loans for agri business and emerge as successful entrepreneurs while a power point presentation was also given to tell about various government schemes and bank loans that are available for agri business sector.
VAPS secretary S.A.Arul had urged the workshop attendees to make use of agri business schemes and turn as entrepreneurs in agri sector by availing bank loans.
The highlighted points include Kisan Credit Card, dairy farming, PM Employment Generation programme, fisheries, agri infra fund, micro food processing enterprises, agri and food enterprise loan, horticulture loan, Kisan Samriddhi, agri clinic, Pradhan Mantri MUDRA yojana, animal husbandry infrastructure development fund, farm mechanization etc.
Dr.M.Subburajan, project officer, VAPS Training Centre, welcomed the participants of this workshop which was attended by agriculture technical officer Ms.D.Manoranjitham along with customer relationship managers Ms.S.Kavitha, Mr.Anand Prakash and others, the press release said.
