MADURAI: Dr.N.Jegatheesan, president of Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was conferred the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ by Rotary Club of Madurai Jallikattu here on December 19th 2025 in recognition of his services for the growth and development of Madurai district and for his overall contributions towards infrastructure development in southern districts of Tamil Nadu.
The award was presented to him at a special function held in Madurai on December 19th 2025 by the Rotary team led by Rotary District Governor Mr.J.Karthik (Rotary International Dist 3000) along with Mr.S.Kathiravan, president, Rotary Club of Madurai Jallikattu and Mr.D.Shanmugam, secretary, C.Karthik, treasurer and other office-bearers.
While thanking the Rotary Club of Madurai Jallikattu for conferring the Rotary award on him, Dr.N.Jegatheesan has said that all steps are being taken to make Madurai airport as a real international airport with the support of Union government and all authorities here.
“Our Madurai city will get developed if AIIMS, Madurai Metro Rail and Madurai airport are taken care of by the Union government. So, we want the Central government to take steps for making Madurai as a truly international airport with all facilities and by completing the pending works. If the already announced projects like AIIMS and Madurai Metro Rail get implemented here, our Madurai will certainly witness lot of opportunities, development and potential for our youth,” Dr.N.Jegatheesan, president, Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has said in his acceptance speech after receiving the Rotary award in Madurai yesterday.
Among those who were present at the award presentation function include Rotary Assistant Governor Mr.Nellai Balu, Rotary office-bearers including Mr.Antony Premkumar, along with Mr.Suresh Pandian, TN Chamber secretary Mr.Sridhar, entrepreneur Mr.Varadharajan and others, according to a press release received from the Rotary Club here yesterday.
