Rs.5,000 Cr land scam in Madurai city with fake documents?: Posters come up for action to save Govt properties at K.Pudur while CSI may come under scanner soon for full probe

MADURAI: Posters have come up at various places in Madurai city today- October 10th 2025- demanding immediate action by the State Government and Central government to safegurard the government land that has a market value of Rs.5,000 crores, at K.Pudur which is a prime area in Madurai city and in othe places here.

The posters which are being keenly watched by the people in Madurai city today have demanded action against C.Fernandes Rathina Raja who is the legal advisor to the Church of South India (CSI) Trust Association against whom allegations have come up for creating fake and forged land documents and selling the government properties by misusing his CSI position.

According to sources, the public anguish in Madurai and especially from K.Pudur and Sambakulam areas here is because of the violations noticed by the Land Administration Department of Government of Tamil Nadu and the case filed in the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court for which the court had passed an interim order passed recently asking the government to take possesion of the land and utilize it for public purposes.

The demand coming up from Madurai today is to take action against the guilty and also save the reputation of CSI Madurai-Ramnad Diocese besides safeguarding the public properties that are going into few hands who are running the CSI affairs, sources added and said today that 48 acres of poromboke land in Madurai had gone into the hands of a land mafia, and hence the public anger has come from the people of Madurai.
