MADURAI: Public response for the community-driven health and wellness market called ‘Aarogya Santhai’ was good on October 4th 2025 as a large number of people had thronged the Gandhi Memorial Museum in Madurai to buy health-focused products.

Madurai-based women’s collective ‘Green Fem’ had launched a dedicated marketplace as a movement to nurture people’s health through wellness products that were made by small women entrepreneurs and the first expo was conducted last month.

Green Fem and VAPS have announced that wellness fair will be conducted on the first Saturday of every month at Gandhi Museum here with exclusive stalls for products connected to health and wellness.

The second edition of ‘Arokya Santhai’ was held on October 4th 2025 with 40 stalls put up by Green Fem members and the products included locally grown mushrooms, traditional rice varieties, pulses, herbal products, honey, handmade napkins, natural masalas, organic chocolates, sustainable clothing, eco-friendly handicrafts, plant nurseries etc.

“Sales trend is encouraging because people want healthy living. Aarogya Santhai is an initiative to support women entrepreneurs for selling their products at a common place. It is a story of local empowerment. The next Arokya Santhai will be on November 1st 2025 (first Saturday),” Ms.R.Elamathi, Director, Green Fem, has said in a press release here today.
