MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry has today thanked the Union Government and Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi for initiating the GST reforms and helping trade and commerce in a big way by reducing the GST rates (Goods and Services Tax) for various products.
“Our TN Chamber president Dr.N.Jegatheesan and chamber secretary Mr.S.Sridhar along with chamber vice-presidents Mr.Thangamayil Ba.Ramesh, Mr.J.Selvam and treasurer Mr.A.Sundaralingam had met our Union Finance Minister Mrs.Nirmala Sitharaman in Madurai today at Madurai airport and thanked her for the major GST reforms announced recently by our Prime Minister Mr.Modi’s government at the Centre. Our TN Chamber team had a discussion for 10 minutes with the Union Finance Minister in Madurai airport lounge today,” a press release received from TN Chamber here has said today on September 20th 2025.
The Union Finance Minister Mrs.Nirmala Sitharaman was in Madurai yesterday and today to address important meetings in Madurai region about the latest GST 2.0 reforms announced by the Modi government to keep the GST affordable and comfortable for the common man by reducing the GST slab rates for important daily usage household products, consumer goods and food items etc which have a significant influence in daily lives.
