Vadamalayan Hospital sponsors sportswear for 40 special children in Madurai; Young athletes gear up for CM trophy events

Sportswear sponsored by Vadamalayan Hospitals for RISE children in Madurai on September 4th 2025.

MADURAI: In a gesture to support sports talent among special children, the Vadamalayan Hospitals in Madurai had sponsored sportswear for 40 students of Ravi Institute of Special Education (RISE) situated at Pasumalai here.

The tracksuits comprising T-shirts and trousers were distributed on September 4th 2025 to RISE students who are with intellectual disabilities but are highly talented to take part in sports events at State level in Tamil Nadu.

“We are immensely grateful to the Chairman and Managing Director of Vadamalayan Hospitals Dr.Pugalagiri Vadamalayan for this support as corporate social responsibility. Our children are thrilled, and this gesture is a moral boost for special children and parents because of its motivation effect,” Mr.R.Ravikumar, managing director, Ravi Institute of Special Education, has said today.

The students who are in the age group of 7 yrs to 25 yrs take part in various sports events and right now they are preparing for Chief Minister’s Trophy Sports Events 2025, he added. Expressing his gratitude to Dr.Pugalagiri Vadamalayan for his generous support, Mr.Ravikumar has said today that RISE children had always risen to the occasion in various district and State level sports events like throw ball etc.

In a press statement here, it was informed that Ravi Institute of Special Education is managed by BESST Trust (Bethshan Educational and Social Service Team) which is dedicated to education and empowerment of children with intellectual disabilities.

“Over the years, the school had produced 16 international level athletes in special olympics and has supported students in securing placements in State and Central government services, the press release said.
