CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu BJP spokesperson Mr.A.N.S.Prasad has lashed out at US president Mr.Donald Trump for his audacious 50 per cent customs duty on Indian goods by saying that the fall of America has begun and the rise of India as a world economic power has been reconfirmed.
“What the President of US has done now is a self-inflicted wound and Trump’s tariff hike exposes America’s fears after seeing how India is seeing an unstoppable ascent as a powerful economy under the leadership of Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi. The tariff increase by Trump will not weaken India, but it will result in America’s rapid decline in coming days,” he said in a press statement issued yesterday-August 7th 2025.
Asserting that India’s resilience will shine against Trump’s erratic policies, Mr.A.N.S.Prasad has said that Trump has set the stage for America’s downfall by antagonizing a rising powerhouse called India which has earned global recognition due to the self-reliant economic policies framed by Mr.Modi.
“The US president is giving a faltering leadership and self-destruction for American economy. Trump is envy of Modi’s global acclaim and the tariff increase will backfire as Mr.Modi pursues to make India as a preeminent power by the year 2047,” the BJP spokesperson has said.
