Start as ‘intrapreneurs’ in a company, then aim to become good entrepreneurs: Hari Thiagarajan exhorts MBA students

MADURAI: Thiagarajar College Secretary Mr.K.Hari Thiagarajan has today exhorted MBA students to first be like ‘intrapreneurs’ when they go for job in any company, but think like an entrepreneur and work for the success of that enterprise with their ideas.

“After completing your course, start your career by joining a company and take new initiatives for that company and gain good experience through your job. Then, you upscale yourself from intrapreneur to becoming an entrepreneur. Young graduates must aspire for high earning jobs and students today must be like a live wire. Always have internal motivation,” he said while addressing the new students at the launching of MBA program in Thiagarajar College in Madurai today-August 4th 2025.

Informing that the college had received 330 applications for intake of 60 students in this MBA program, he emphasized that there is a good need for management trainees in corporate sector because the Indian economy is growing rapidly.

“Today, we became fourth largest economy in the world. India has a substantial young population and what we require is intelligent and smart working people. The BBA course in Thiagarajar College is already very popular and the inaugural of MBA program from this year is a step forward to supply qualified business management graduates from this campus,” Mr.Hari Thiagarajan has said addressing the students and parents via online.

Dr.D.Pandiaraja, Principal, has said that a new block for management program is being constructed and it will be named as ‘TK Block’ named after late Shri Karumuttu T Kannan who gave lot of importance to the Department of Management Studies.

Mrs.Uma Kannan, college president, Mr.Balarama Govinda Das, Chairman, Thangamayil Jewellery Limited, Dr.B.Ramani Mabel, Associate Professor, DOMS and Dr.T.Joel Gnanapragash, Associate Professor, DOMS, were among those who were present at the inaugural ceremony of MBA programme today where a special logo was also unveiled by the chief guest.
