MADURAI: J.Vinayan has assumed charge as the new Principal Chief Commercial Manager of Southern Railway at Chennai on July 1st 2025. Prior to this position, he was the Senior Deputy General Manager of South Central Railway.
Mr.Vinayan is an officer of Indian Railway Traffic Service of 1993 UPSC Civil Services batch and he held several key assignments such as Chief Vigilance Officer with public sector company FACT and in Southern Railway as Chief Transportation Planning Manager etc.
He also served as a senior professor at Indian Railways Institute of Transport Management at Lucknow and he was a part of the initial team that introduced Indian Railways e-ticketing service through IRCTC during the period 2002-2007. Mr.J.Vinayan is qualified in cyber laws and management also, according to a press release here today-July 2nd 2025.
