MADURAI: Union Home Minister Mr.Amit Shah had visited the world famous Meenakshi Temple in Madurai today-June 8th 2025.
He had a darshan of the deities at Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple and spent about 45 minutes in the temple where he was accorded ‘Purna Kumbha’ welcome by the temple authorities and priests today morning.
Accompanied by Tamil Nadu BJP State president Mr.Nainar Nagendra, Union Minister Mr.L.Murugan and Madurai city unit BJP president Mr.C.M.Mari Chakkaravarthi, the Union Home Minister went inside the temple and showed lot of interest to know the great history of Meenakshi temple.
Mr.Amit Shah arrived in Madurai last night to attend an important political meeting here today evening where he will address senior party leaders in Tamil Nadu, BJP office-bearers from districts and booth level in-charges.
Amidst the current heated political scenario when the focus is on forging political alliances and bring in new parties into the NDA fold, the visit of Mr.Amit Shah to Madurai today has assumed lot of significance and all eyes are on his important meeting with the BJP functionaries in Tamil Nadu, which is taking place at Velammal Global Hospital Ground in Othakadai here at 4 pm, and in that meeting he is going to make a few important political statements which will be setting the preparedness for 2026 assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, sources said.
Today afternoon, he already had a meeting with the core committee members of Tamil Nadu BJP which was attended by all the senior leaders of the party in Tamil Nadu including the past presidents. The party cadres are now waiting for today’s evening meeting.
