MADURAI: A fervent appeal has been made today to the Madras High Court to save the government aided courses in D.B.Jain College at Thoraipakkam in Chennai because the college is refusing to admit students for aided courses.

Educationist and well-known social activist Mr.P.B.Prince Gajendra Babu has brought to the attention of Madras High Court that for the fourth consecutive year the D.B.Jain College in Chennai is refusing admission in aided courses.

“I appeal to the Lordships of Madras High Court to consider my prayer for listing the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) so that the issue can reach the HC bench for arguments. I request that justice is done for the poor students living in the vicinity of D.B.Jain College at Thoraipakkam in Chennai. Justice delayed is justice denied,” he said in a statement issued on May 23rd 2025.

Stating that he is making only a humble submission before the Madras High Court to save the aided courses in that college, Mr.P.B.Prince Gajendra Babu had pointed out that the management of D.B.Jain College has suppressed some facts and got an order from a single judge bench of the honurable High Court for surrendering of aided courses.

“The third party writ appeal against the order of the single judge bench of Madras HC is not getting listed for hearing. Even if its listed, it never reaches before the day closes and hence it goes away from the list of cases. My appeal is that justice must be accessible to the poor students and that the Lordships provide access to justice for the poor students. Justice must remain accessible whether or not the Court is on vacation and this was said by the HC when orders were dictated at late hours well past the court’s usual working hours. Please apply this for D.B.Jain College issue also and this is my plea to the Madras High Court for aided courses to benefit poor students,” Mr.P.B.Prince Gajendra Babu, general secretary, State Platform for Common School System-Tamil Nadu, has requested on May 23rd 2025.
