26 smart boards donated to 4 Chennai schools under Rotary’s E-Vidhya initiative through CSR grant; Project cost Rs.29 lakhs

CHENNAI: The Rotary Club of Madras T.Nagar had donated 26 smart boards to four schools in Chennai as a part of ‘E-Vidhya’ initiative taken up by Rotary International District 3233 towards digital empowerment in education.

These smart boards were installed in the schools under CSR grant and the total value of this project is Rs.28.6 lakhs. The Rotary International District 3233 is putting focus on E-Vidhya mode as a flagship project and it aims to equip 1,000 schools with smart teaching aids, according to a press release received from Rotary Club of Madras T.Nagar on April 25th 2025.

The four schools are- Sree Venkateswara Matriculation Higher Secondary School at Royapettah which was given nine smart boards, Guntur Subbiah Pillai T.Nagar Girls Higher Secondary School which also received nine smart boards, Jaigopal Garodia Govt Girls Higher Secondary School at Nandanam with six smart boards and KRC ARC Girls Higher Secondary School located at Saiva Muthiah Street in George Town in Chennai getting two smart boards.

TO REDEFINE CLASSROOM LEARNING:

Among those who attended the inauguration event were Rajasthan Ratna Mr.K.Subhashchand Ranka, Rotary District Governor Mr.Mahaveer Bothra, Past Rotary District Governor Mr.A.P.Kanna and Rotary Foundation District Chairman Mr.Neelakantan Lokanathan along with Mr.Narendra Srisrimal, president, Rotary Club of Madras T.Nagar and school teachers.

“These mart boards will redefine classroom learning and make education more interesting, interactive and inclusive for students. They open the doors to creativity and students’ engagement. The Rotary Club of Madras T.Nagar is dedicated to support sustainable educational support through Corporate Social Responsibility, ” Mr.Narendra Srisrimal has said in the press release on April 25th 2025.
