CHENNAI: Objections have been taken to the attention of film actor Vijay about the manner in which some words in his just released ‘GOAT’ movie are hurting the followers and freedom fighters who are associated with great ‘Netaji’ Subhas Chandra Bose.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tamil Nadu spokesperson A.N.S.Prasad had issued a press statement on September 8th 2024 as an open letter to ‘GOAT’ movie hero Mr.Vijay who had just entered politics and launched his own party in the name TVK- Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.

“Please don’t diminish the legacy and honour of our freedom movement hero and icon the great Subash Chandra Bose in your “GOAT” movie. I watched your movie ‘GOAT’ which was directed by Venkat Prabhu….But, the dialogue where Yogibabu’s character responds to Mahatma Gandhi’s name by saying “If you are Gandhi, I am Subhas Chandra Bose” has disturbed me. This is hurting and it shows Netaji’s name in a negative light. The decision to cast Yogi as a mobile phone thief and give him name Subhash Chandra Bose should have been avoided and it is a blunder in this film. Please take corrective action…..The ‘GOAT’ film crew must tender unconditional apology and rectify this mistake….and honour our national heroes. Make amends to your actions….introspect and acknowledge the gravity of the offence made in GOAT film,” Mr.A.N.S.Prasad, Tamil Nadu BJP Spokesperson, has said in his open letter to film actor Vijay on September 8th 2024 by stating that Vijay had only now entered politics and public life.
