MADURAI: The importance of wearing a face mask properly at all times to prevent the spread of corona virus was highlighted at a special interaction session on COVID-19 awareness, organized in Sree Vijayalakshmi Apartment premises at D.R.O.Colony in Madurai on 6th June 2021-Sunday as a part of special lecture series.
This meeting had highlighted the importance of maintaining social distancing and wearing mask without fail besides using of sanitizers and washing of hands frequently. The guest speaker for this important session was senior psychiatrist Dr.Mrs.Selvamani Thinakaran who also resides in the same apartments.
“Today’s topic for interaction is ‘How to keep ourselves safe during this COVID time. The answer is mask, mask and mask. All the servantmaids, security persons and others must adhere to wearing of face mask and that too properly,” she said. (The message from this meeting was to wear face mask, stay safe, don’t panic, maintain social distancing, do frequent hand wash, be confident, do morning walk-physical exercise and breathing, wear mask even after taking corona vaccination, wear mask correctly covering your nose also and tell your friends, relatives and all family members to be safe by following the mask mantra).
Stating that wearing a face mask is for your safety and your family members’ safety, the senior consultant psychiatrist in Madurai has stressed that the message on mask must become a mission and a movement since it is the best way to stop Corona virus infection.
Others who spoke on the ways to control COVID-19 include Mr.D.R.Shahjahan, Prof.Dr.C.Raju, Mr.V.Thiagarajan, Mr.S.Kalaimurugan, Mr.C.Subramanian, Ms.Nalini, Ms.Nirmala, Mr.Palaniappan, Mr.S.Selvakumar and senior member Mr.Sivapragasam. Face masks were distributed to servant maids who are working in various homes in Sri Vijayalakshmi Apartments in DRO Colony Main Road in Madurai.
Mr.S.Umar Farouk, a senior resident, proposed a vote of thanks on behalf of the apartments’ welfare committee.
