MADURAI: Phone calls were received from a few persons today that the national flag flying before Madurai Railway Junction here is slightly torn and damaged. The flag post is near the railway station bus stop and a few people have noticed today afternoon- 9th July 2020- that the cloth became very delicate and the movement of this flag is not what it usually would be.
Sources said today that a huge flagpost was erected on the front side of Madurai Railway station at a cost of around Rs.9 lakhs last year. An appeal was made to concerned authorities to inspect the place and take steps if the national flag got damaged due to last night’s heavy rain.
“Since it is flying very high, we could not see it thoroughly, but there is something to be corrected because it is our national flag,” a caller said today- 9th July 2020.
